About Kavin

Hey there! I'm a Film and Television major at DePaul University, blending my passion for storytelling with a love for creative expression. Alongside my studies, I’ve worked in animation classes and enjoy drawing for fun, always exploring new ways to bring ideas to life visually and sonically! Outside of academics, I’m passionate about surfing and music, both of which inspire my creative process. Whether I’m diving into sound design, catching waves, or exploring new sounds and genres, I’m always looking for ways to grow creatively and professionally.

As a tutor, I take a creative and personalized approach to teaching English, drawing from my background in Film and Television to make lessons engaging and relatable. I believe in connecting language learning to real-world contexts, whether through analyzing film scripts, exploring storytelling techniques, or incorporating multimedia elements to enhance comprehension and expression.

I focus on interactive, student-centered learning. This includes discussions, critical thinking exercises, and multimedia resources to keep lessons dynamic. I tailor my approach to each student's needs, whether they’re improving their academic writing, conversational skills, or preparing for exams. I emphasize practical applications, like analyzing film dialogue or crafting narratives, to make learning both fun and effective.

Warm-Up: A quick review or icebreaker related to previous lessons.
Core Lesson: Focused on a specific topic—grammar, vocabulary, writing, or comprehension—often using creative materials like film excerpts, articles, or sound clips.
