About Simon

Hello! I'm Simon, a passionate and dedicated Spanish tutor who believes that learning a new language should be enjoyable, meaningful, and rewarding.

I am a native Spanish speaker from Nicaragua, and I bring my language, culture, and real-life experiences into every lesson.

As a patient, friendly, and adaptable teacher, I understand that every student learns differently. That's why I personalize my lessons to match your level, interests, and goals.

Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for a trip, improving your Spanish for work, or simply looking to become more confident in conversations, I'm here to guide you every step of the way.

My teaching approach focuses on real-life conversations, practical vocabulary, interactive activities, and cultural connections. I create a comfortable environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and improve at your own pace.

My goal is simple: to help you speak Spanish naturally, confidently, and with a smile!

Let's make your Spanish learning journey an exciting experience.

Book a lesson with me, and let's start speaking Spanish together!

About the lesson

My Teaching Method and Techniques

My tutoring style is learner-centered, with a strong focus on clarity, adaptability, and critical thinking. Here's how I approach it:

1. Conceptual Clarity First

I always start by ensuring foundational understanding. I avoid rote learning and instead:

Break complex ideas into digestible parts

Use analogies and real-world examples

Encourage asking "why" and "how" instead of just "what"

2. Socratic Method & Guided Discovery

I use questions to guide students to find answers themselves, building confidence and deeper understanding. I don’t just provide answers—I provide frameworks to solve problems independently.

3. Visual and Interactive Learning

Depending on the subject, I incorporate:

Diagrams, flowcharts, and visual aids

Step-by-step problem solving

Interactive quizzes or quick reflections

4. Adaptable Pacing

I adapt lessons based on the student’s progress. If a student struggles, I slow down and revisit basics. If they excel, I increase the challenge.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Here’s how a standard 60-minute lesson might look:

Time Activity
0–5 mins Quick check-in: goals, mood, and review of previous material
5–15 mins Introduction of today’s topic with examples or analogies
15–35 mins Deep dive: step-by-step explanation, problem-solving, interactive dialogue
35–50 mins Guided practice: student attempts problems or applies concepts
50–60 mins Recap, feedback, questions, and preview of next s
