About George
I am a PhD student carrying out scientific research on how rhythm in music affects the brain and how the brain's of people with Parkinson's might benefit from listening to specific types of music. Previously, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology. I also worked as a stroke researcher for a year where I used MRI scanning to understand how the pathology of a stroke might predict a stroke victims risk of developing dementia. Throughout all of these endeavours, I have learnt how to write academic essays, publish articles, smash personal statements, and craft my CV to attract maximum attention.
However, this was not without struggle and with the added difficulty of my dyslexia, I was barely passing my GCSE English exams at first. It was only through seeing a tutor and learning little tricks and tips that allowed me to begin to excel at writing. I love helping people and making a difference, and I am passionate about sharing my writing knowledge with fellow students to ease their writing difficulties.

Struggling to write essays, answer exam questions, and understand subject content? Struggling to know how to improve? Well, this was me a few years ago. I know first hand what this frustration feels like, and also how to get rid of it.
Whether you are struggling learning how to structure an essay logically, write in an academic tone, ace your GCSE/A-level exam papers, or learn how to make your CV or personal statement irresistible to an admissions panel, I know the optimum and quickest way to achieve this.
I don't have a specific teaching methodology as having learnt in my scientific research, everyone's brain learns differently to one another. Hence, I am here to tutor you in a way that is custom to the way your brain works ie., through visual learning, voice learning, semantic learning, mark scheme learning etc.
My lessons last 50 minutes and can accommodate GCSE students right up to undergraduate students.
