My students come with specific goals in mind. These may be brushing up specific skills, coaching for a semester-long project, or longer-term goals like improving grades for grad school.
My approach to teaching is a two-way street. We'll start by understanding your goals and a brief pre-assessment. You may bring specific assignments AND your previous attempts in lieu of a pre-assessment. Students who put in the work in between sessions stand to gain the most.
I also offer basic academic writing lessons. These will focus on basic elements of academic writing, namely thesis statement, topic sentences and paragraphing. We may work on analysis and logical flow in the process (e.g., as required for economics). Students may bring their own essay question or the Instructor may assign.
All in all, you can expect a customized experience for your specific learning needs, including tips on basic academic writing, literature review, research design, or even resources to learn basic college statistics to support your proposals. I look forward to journeying with you!
PS: Professional reviewing and editing services for drafts are available to students at additional cost. These must be discussed upfront prior to the need for these services. To give you enough time to rework your draft, the Instructor reserves the right to decline service requests less than one month prior to the deadline.
