About Olivia
My name is Olivia and I am a passionate and energetic dual degree student at the University of Western Ontario. I am pursuing a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in the field of Health and Rehabilitation as well as a Master of Science Degree in the field of Occupational Therapy (MSc OT).
Throughout my academic career, I have excelled in writing courses (undergraduate and graduate level). I have also been a teaching assistant for an essay course marking undergraduate papers for over a year. In addition, I have experience with writing scientific blogs, research proposals and scholarship applications.
I am happy to help any fellow student feel more confident in any writing capacity at any level!

Who I am:
As a PhD student who is a teaching assistant for an undergraduate essay course, has tonnes of experience with academic writing throughout my own graduate level courses and thesis work, I am passionate about effective writing and helping fellow students reach their writing potential.
My approach:
I take a compassionate, structured and pragmatic approach to tutoring. I will help you understand the writing process better so that you can take these skills with you throughout the rest of your academic career.
I make sure that students feel comfortable asking for help no matter what level they may be at.
Writing is a skill, not a talent. The important difference is that skills can be improved with practice.
What I can help with:
I can help students edit, re-structure sentences, develop a thesis, understand writing flow, cite sources, develop academic tone, improve clarity and conciseness.
I can also support students with creating CVs, resumes and interviewing tips.
I have many helpful take-home resources / exemplars to provide students based on what aspect of writing they are working on.
