About Cheyenne
I received my Bachelors degree in Physics from UC Berkeley in 2017 and I have been tutoring students in mathematics and physics since 2006, over 10 years. My first job was as a private math tutor for algebra and trigonometry while in high school. At community college, I worked both as Student Instructor, for courses in precalculus and intermediate algebra, and as a math and physics tutor at the Moorpark College Math Center.
I am incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about physics and math. I have found that my genuine passion, enthusiasm - and overall nerdy-ness - is contagious to my students. I enjoy guiding students through challenging problems because of the inevitable "aha moments" of understanding that come to the student while working towards a solution.
Serendipitously, I have ran into several students I used to privately tutor in community college at Berkeley as fellow STEM majors. My biggest reward as a teacher and tutor as been helping students gain the knowledge and understanding they need to be successful and accomplish their goals for the future.

My teaching methodology focuses on problem solving through critical thinking. I teach students to think critically about the problem they are presented with; what are the dynamics of the problem? What are the hows and whys? I ask a lot of questions to my students to help them to think about the problem in ways they might not have thought of before.
I don't hand my students solutions. I teach them to how to ask the right questions and guide them in the formulation of their own solutions. I teach my students to be creative problem solvers.
