About Philip

I have been teaching Physics in secondary (11-18) schools in Essex and around Greater Manchester for about 40 years. I have a degree in Physics from the University of Manchester, a teaching qualification from Chelsea College, University of London and a master's degree in Sciences Education from Manchester Metropolitan University. I have also prepared students for the GCSE in Astronomy. My other interests include music, and I play the violin in amateur orchestras.

About the lesson

I have the background and experience to quickly identify gaps or misconceptions in your understanding of physics and devise a programme of study to address them. Over the years I have identified or created a wealth of resources to help you gain confidence, improve your understanding and be successful in examinations.
