About MaryAnne
I am a registered teacher who has taught students who struggle in an educational setting for over 35yrs. I also have a guidance and social work background. I enjoy working with young people and in particular those who find learning a challenge. I have always worked with young people who need that outside of the box assistance. I am very good at helping people interpret assessment questions and then plan and write an appropriate response. I will not write your answers for you though.

I firmly believe in empowering the learner. I believe we all learn very differently and that we have an educational system that often forgets this. If I am assisting you I am dedicated to making sure your true cognitive ability is what is being assessed and not a cognitive impairment or specific learning style deficit. Every positive has a negative - tell me of the amazing success stories in our world that didn't face some challenges and I'll tell you that I seriously doubt we have the full story.

Details
I will meet with a student for the first hour to make a plan, this is free. If a student has to cancel due to ill health I am happy to reschedule the lesson. If the student does not show up they will be expected to pay for all future lessons in an upfront bundle of 5 lessons upon returning. I am happy to discuss this with families accordingly.
