About Bree

I am a registered English teacher and university lecturer with over 20 years of teaching experience, and a PhD in English, English Language and literature Education. I am currently QLD based, however, I have extensive experience teaching in VIC, so I am confident in both senior syllabuses, in addition to teaching the national ACARA curriculum for Years 7-10. I am also a former English HoD of an MYP school, and I can tailor lessons to suit this program.

I am new to the Superprof community, however, I have tutored students in secondary (and primary) English for many years in addition to being involved in writing and marking papers for examination.

About the lesson

Lessons are tailored to each student and can be used to improve areas, assist with study, or extend students skills. Tutoring provides a focused and safe space for learning, wherein each lesson is dedicated to exploring the concepts and skills you want/need to know more about. I will coach, model and teach you how to perform these, so you become more confident and independent over time. There are lots of opportunities to ask the questions you might not get the time to ask in class (or perhaps are too shy to ask). Areas of tuition include: literature analysis, text response, the craft of writing, persuasive media analysis and general English language skills.

In the first lesson we will explore the areas you would like to prioritise and start working toward your goals. I look forward to styling a lesson that matches what you need.

I offer lessons online, however, I am located in Townsville and I might be able to offer a face-to-face session depending on availability.
