About Rachel

Many things make me feel a sense of happiness but one thing in particular is the smile on a child’s face as they adore learning and having fun. Therefore, my desire and enthusiasm to impart my knowledge and love of learning to children, led to completing a Primary Education with QTS degree at Liverpool John Moores University. Throughout the course, I had extensive opportunities to work across Foundation and Key Stages 1 and 2, using the English National Curriculum. Since then, for the last 6 years, I have been a primary teacher, gaining further experience alongside a wide range of continual professional development experiences, which I continue to work on.

I am an honourable, dynamic and social person, who strives for positive relationships in my professional life, always affording equal respect to individuals and their traditions, ensuring everyone is included. I have a strong desire to work with children with various cultures and traditions, emphasising the importance of equal opportunities.

My hobbies are travelling, singing, playing badminton and walking my dog!

About the lesson

We usually would start with the first 10 minutes settling in, catching up on your week or playing a game. Then we will spend 45 minutes on a lesson where you will be using fun resources, games, videos, songs etc. I like to make my lessons as fun as possible! The last 5 minutes, we will play a game, dance, sing or whatever you like.

My lessons are for 4–11-year-olds with any ability range. I have experience with children of all ability levels, EAL or SEN. I just want to make you feel more confident and supported, I will become someone who will be there for you for schoolwork and if you need a trusted adult.

I have 6 years’ experience as a primary teacher and tutor.
