About Laura
HI,
I am Laura and I have been teaching in primary schools for nearly 15 years. I currently teach a year five class and am Head of English. I love the creativity and freedom that writing allows, but also love the strange rules that the English language brings!
I have been tutoring online since 2020 and have loved building up lasting relationships with my students. I am enthusiastic and passionate about my subject and am flexible to your needs- whether that be timing or subject-specific needs.

Child-friendly, 45 minutes, interactive sessions based around the National Curriculum expectations for your child.I offer fun, multi-sensory approaches to learning, allowing for discussion, rehearsal and consolidation of key aspects of spelling, punctuation and grammar. Reading is a passion of mine and I offer comprehensions based lessons, with a focus on using higher order reading skills to produce evidence based written answers.
I also offer sessions using the 'Alpha to Omega' spelling and reading scheme, supported by Dyslexia Action, which closely follows the normal pattern of phonological language acquisition and rehearsal.
