About Ned
Hey! I'm Ned. I'm a professional actor and facilitator based in London.
I began a career in the arts as a young performer in award-winning regional theatre and independent cinema, becoming a member of the National Youth Theatre in 2013 before graduating from the Manchester School of Theatre in 2018.
Theatre venues performed at include Sheffield Theatres, HOME Mcr, The Dukes Lancaster, Pleasance London, Theatre503, Fortune Theatre (West End), Arcola Theatre.
Screen credits include regular roles on Emmerdale (ITV), The Full Monty (Disney+), Doctors and Waterloo Road (BBC) and award-winning British indie film 'Petrol Head' currently on the film festival circuit.
Alongside acting, I have worked with children for over five years, providing tuition for 11+ English exams, GCSE Drama and English, LAMDA exams and drama school auditions.
Students I have previously coached have gone on to secure places at leading drama schools, including Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Manchester School of Theatre and National Youth Theatre.
I also frequently work as a facilitator, both leading drama workshops within community groups and offering dramaturgy for professional theatre companies.

Performing in any environment can feel daunting, especially in auditions. I offer a calming environment that allows you to shake off inhibitions and make playful discoveries through a variety of methods, including in-depth character discussion, vocational guidance, and sharing knowledge from personal experience as a performer.
A varied career to date makes my practice dynamic and malleable, thinking on my feet and adapting to the needs of each individual actor.
My immediate priority is to put you at ease, getting to know the type of performer you are and the way you instinctively like to work. Once this is established, a session becomes more of a collaboration, creating a foundation that brings out the most authentic version of yourself, allowing you to move out of your comfort zone with excitement rather than nervousness.
This puts us in the strongest position to find the ‘truth’ of the work. Rather than settling for demonstrating an emotion or pushing a performance, opening yourself to the reality of the character through emotional awareness, whilst holding on to an enhanced practical skillset.
Examples of what we can cover:
- Classical text- vocal technique, rhythmic understanding and relevant historical context to enhance performance
-Contemporary text- in-depth character discussion
-Practitioner inspired background work for naturalism- given circumstances, objectives, actions
-Listening and improvisation exercises to find emotional truth of scenes.
-Industry guidance- audition technique, self-tape setups
-Performance skills that can be applied beyond acting contexts: improving confidence, public speaking, social skills
