I plan my structure carefully starting with warm ups before going straight into our main exercise. I always ensure to keep all participants engaged and to give them clear and brief instructions on either games or exercises without . I find demonstration with physical gesture and movement to be just as helpful as delivering clear guidance.
Energy is key when leading a session whether it's one to one or a group; the more excitement put into the class, the more young participants will feel engaged and want to join in. It is also important to be patient when there are some students who are shy or reluctant to take part.
Textual reading classes ( for ages 12-18)- Group of one to one
-Shakespeare text (for ages 12-18)
-Stanislvaski method (for ages 16+)
I would to encourage the student to look deeply into the text and respond to the objective in their own interpretation.
Improvisation & Devising classes for groups (all ages):
I can include lots of different improvisation games for kids take part in. Examples include; Park Bench, Word at a Time Story, Freeze, What are you doing, Actor Switch and many more as well as some devising games.
To get them working as a team, I would like to introduce devising. The objective would be to give them a stimulus and and as a team they would have to work together to create a scene related to that.
There are also fun short devising games that kids of any age would enjoy.
One to one improv (ages 5-11)
-Role play
-Games
-Voice & Movement exercises
-Breathing exercises
The aim is to boost their confidence, help them to keep focused and develop team playing and communication skills.
Drama school auditions:
As someone who has experienced auditioning for drama school, I can offer students good advice to make sure they will know what to be prepared for when they audition. I would encourage students to try different exercises and techniques that would help them with their monologue, but also make some monologue recommendations that would be suited to them. I am willing to ensure they increase their chances of winning their place at drama school.
As a tutor it is important to be a role model to give them inspiration.
I can offer from 1 hour, 1.5 and 2 hours sessions.
I am based in Wimbledon Park in the South West of London and due to COVID-19, local sessions is preferable (Wimbledon Park, Wimbledon, Southfields, Wandsworth, Battersea, Clapham, Putney, Fulham).
I can also offer online sessions via skype or zoom.
