Rebecca is a writer and college composition instructor. She has years of experience tutoring middle school, high school, and college students.
A passionate writer, editor, and wordsmith, she finds deep joy in helping students grow into confident, empowered writers.

Teaching Method
For essay and narrative writing, I focus on craft, focusing on show-don't-tell, pacing, and dialogue. My goal is for my students to learn to write with intention and effectively.
A Typical Lesson
About 30 minutes:
- A quick warm-up, a focused skill (a paragraph structure, a technique from a mentor text)
- guided practice with real-time feedback
- a short wrap-up tying it back to the student's own writing.
What Sets Me Apart
I teach college composition (ENGL 111) and hold an MA in English with a creative writing focus.
I bring both classroom-tested pedagogy and an active writer's eye. I also freelance as a book editor and write personal essays professionally, which means I read student work looking for what it's trying to do, not just what's wrong with it with both a writer's and teacher's eye!
