About Deborah

I wasn't an excellent student growing up — not because I couldn't learn, but because no one ever explained things in a way that made sense to me. Years later, I got the chance to teach a class of Primary 2 students myself (my mother owns a school, and she introduced me to teaching early in life), and by the end of that term, my students had improved so much I won multiple teaching awards. That's when I realized something had clicked — I had learned how to explain things the way I'd once needed someone to explain them to me. I go as deep as it takes to find the explanation that finally makes something click for a student, because I know exactly what it feels like when it doesn't.

With 7 years of teaching experience and a certification in Diction, I help students take English from difficult to natural. I take the time to understand how each student learns, then explain things in plain, simple language so nothing feels overwhelming. Whether you're working on grammar, essay writing, comprehension, phonetics, communication skills or exam prep, my goal isn't just to help you pass a test — it's to help you use English so naturally it stops feeling like something you're learning and starts feeling like something you just know.
I'm genuinely invested in my students' progress — it's my biggest reward. If it helps a concept click, I'll build a lesson around your favorite movie or cook alongside you to explain a term in context. Whatever it takes, I'll find a way to make it make sense.

About the lesson

With 7 years of teaching experience and a certification in Diction, I have had the opportunity to work with learners at different levels and with different learning needs.
I believe every student can learn when they are taught in a way that works for them.

I am patient, attentive and committed to my students' progress, and I do not give up on a student simply because they find a topic difficult. I take the time to understand how each learner learns best and explain concepts in simple, clear words they can understand.

My lessons can cover English Language, grammar, reading and comprehension, essay writing, phonetics, diction, oral English and exam preparation. For students preparing for examinations such as WAEC, NECO and JAMB, I incorporate structured practice, past questions and exam techniques to help them approach their examinations with greater confidence.

My goal is not just to help you get the right answer, but to help you understand why the answer is right, communicate confidently and become a better English user.
