About Todd
I’m a professional bassist, guitarist, and music educator with over 20 years of teaching and performing experience. I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced musicians refining technique, theory, and musical expression. My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals, developing good practice habits, and helping students become confident, creative players.
I tailor each lesson to the individual student. A typical session may include technique development, rhythm and ear training, learning songs, and understanding the musical ideas behind what we’re playing. My goal is to make lessons engaging, practical, and clearly structured so students see steady progress.
Alongside teaching, I’ve performed, toured, and recorded throughout the United States and Europe, bringing real-world professional experience into my lessons. This allows me to help students not only learn their instrument, but also understand how music works in bands, recordings, and live performance.
Lessons are open to students of all ages and skill levels who want to improve their guitar or bass playing in a supportive and professional environment.

My teaching approach is practical, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on building strong fundamentals—technique, rhythm, ear training, and musical understanding—while keeping lessons engaging and connected to the music students actually want to play. I believe students learn best when they feel encouraged, challenged at the right level, and able to see clear progress over time.
A typical lesson includes a short warm-up or technique exercise, work on songs or musical material the student enjoys, and focused discussion of concepts such as rhythm, harmony, or improvisation. I also provide guidance on effective practice so students know how to continue improving between lessons.
What sets me apart is my combination of over 20 years of teaching experience and real-world professional experience performing, touring, and recording. This allows me to teach not only how to play the instrument, but how music works in real musical situations.
Lessons are open to students of all ages and levels—from complete beginners to advanced players looking to deepen their technique, musicality, theory knowledge, improvisation, or performance skills on guitar or bass.
