About Yvonne
I received a full scholarship to study at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and graduated with a BAHons in Professional Acting in 2009.
Since then I have had the pleasure of acting in many projects both in London and Melbourne. My most recent credit was in "Goolagong" for the ABC that aired earlier this year.

Nurse in Romeo & Juliet - Pleasence Theatre, London; Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing - The Scoop, London; Mel in Years Years Bears - Trades Hall; Delio in Duchess of Malfi - The Meat Market.
I have also written and produced two plays: Brick - a one woman show that I performed in and Grass - a two hander that I directed for The Butterfly Club's one act play festival.
I am training to teach Impro at Impro Melbourne and have taught workshops on working with actors in independent film.

About the lesson

I typically run two types of sessions and either can be adapted for adults or children (10+).
The first is audition coaching, where we will work to get your performance to the best possible standard. This could be drama school auditions, exams or for a role in a play or film.
This will include looking at motivation for your character, world building and bringing out your natural instincts. 1 or 2 hour sessions available.
The second, is general acting coaching to hone your craft and keep your instincts sharp. These sessions are designed to be ongoing practice of your art. We will look at script analysis, how to make acting choices and confidence to follow your impulses to see where they lead you. 1 or 2 hour sessions available.
I am trained in wide variety of acting techniques including Stanislavsky, Uta Hagen, Meisner, Method and Stella Adler. I prefer not to strictly adhere to any one school of thought, but rather use the awareness of these techniques to build your own actors toolbox. Each person resonates with different techniques in different ways. It's important to find the way that works for you. I can help you to discover your own process.
