About Emily
I earned an Honors degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and have spent the past three years working as a private SAT and ACT tutor with a highly regarded test preparation company. I love helping students grow in confidence, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and achieve scores that open doors to new opportunities.

My tutoring style is rooted in Socratic questioning, guiding students to discover solutions through their own reasoning rather than simply providing answers. In addition to teaching the core concepts tested on the SAT and ACT, I share a wide range of strategies and test-taking techniques that help students make the most of the exams' unique formats.
I strive to create sessions that are engaging, supportive, and even fun. A sense of humor goes a long way, especially since many students are already balancing demanding schedules. I typically recommend 90-minute sessions, as they provide enough time to make meaningful progress without becoming mentally exhausting.
