About Khadijah

Hello! My name is Khadijah, and I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential by making learning enjoyable, accessible, and confidence-building. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to adapt my teaching style to suit their individual needs and encourage them to ask questions without fear of making mistakes.

My experience as both a tutor and a Learning Support Assistant has allowed me to support children and young people with a wide range of abilities, including those with additional learning needs. I have worked closely with students to strengthen their understanding, improve their confidence, and achieve their academic goals in a supportive and patient environment.

I intend to tutor and support students with their English subject as I believe it is important for individuals to share the knowledge that they have gained with others who are in need of it. With this mindset, I hope that I can create a positive impact on your learning and that you may, in turn, support others with your newfound knowledge and skills.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is engaging, patient and personalised to the students' needs. I aim to encourage students to feel comfortable in asking questions and develop their understanding at their own pace. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each learner, using clear explanations, effective examples, interactive activities and regular retrieval practice to build progress and confidence.

Lessons would typically last 45 to 60 minutes due to it being the most effective timeframe for learning. However, I am open to increasing these hours or spreading them across multiple days. These lessons would be structured collaboratively as I believe the student should have a say in which topics they'd like more practice on. It would consist of reviewing prior learning, introducing new concepts, and consolidating understanding through guided practice and independent tasks. I also provide constructive feedback and exam-focused strategies where appropriate.

I have achieved GCSEs and A Levels and have experience working as both a tutor and a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), supporting students with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND. This experience has strengthened my ability to differentiate teaching, adapt communication styles, and help students overcome barriers to learning.

My lessons are suitable for KS2 to GCSE students, whether they need support on identifying and using literary techniques, structuring essay plans and answers or building confidence in their writing. I aim to create a positive learning experience that encourages academic progress and independent thinking.
