About Thobile

Hello! My name is Thobile Mntambo, and I’m excited to support you on your English-learning journey. I am a Psychology student at Nelson Mandela University with hands-on experience tutoring, mentoring, and facilitating learning spaces for students from different backgrounds. I believe every learner can grow with the right guidance, encouragement, and tools.

I bring patience, structure, and enthusiasm to every lesson. I take time to understand how each student learns, and I adapt my teaching style so you always feel supported and confident—whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your communication skills. My background in book club facilitation, debate coordination, and peer tutoring has strengthened my communication and teaching abilities, making it easy for me to explain concepts clearly while keeping lessons interactive, practical, and enjoyable.

I am passionate about helping learners build strong language foundations they can use in school, work, and everyday life. If you’re motivated, curious, and ready to grow, I’m here to guide you—one step, one word, and one conversation at a time. I can’t wait to meet you in class!

About the lesson

I approach teaching with a learner-centered methodology that prioritizes confidence, understanding, and real-world communication. I meet students where they are, then build their language skills through discussion, guided practice, and active participation. What makes me unique as a teacher is my background in psychology and student leadership—I understand how people learn, what keeps them motivated, and how to adapt my teaching style to different personalities and abilities.

I am proficient in English and isiZulu and can teach comfortably in both languages. I am able to support English language learners at different stages, including beginners who need patient guidance and intermediate learners looking to strengthen fluency, vocabulary, and expression.

Students can expect interactive lessons that combine reading, speaking, listening, and writing, depending on their needs. I include vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, short activities, conversation exercises, and reflection to make sure learning sticks. Lessons are supportive, structured but flexible, and designed to grow both skill and confidence.

My sessions are ideal for beginner and intermediate students, high school learners, young adults, and working professionals who want to improve their English for communication, studies, or personal development. Whether a student is building foundations or refining language skills, I provide encouragement, clarity, and personalized support.
