About Gillian

I'm a New Zealander, born in New Zealand and I live here in Auckland.
I have taught English in several countries as well as here in New Zealand in both Wellington and Auckland.
I have had a CELTA for many years and 30 years experience teaching to students of all levels.
I love teaching English and I get a lot of personal satisfaction from seeing my students progress through the stages of learning the language and becoming more confident in their communication.

About the lesson

I am a certified and experienced teacher of English as a foreign language. I've been teaching for a number of years both in New Zealand and in overseas countries. I love my job and being able to help students to speak, understand, read and write my native language. I have a CELTA and use various methods depending on what suits the student. We cover the 4 modules: speaking, reading, listening and writing. I have specialised in training students for the IELTS, Cambridge Advanced and TOEFL tests in later years and also beginners to advanced. I also do ESP (English for special purpose) lessons for specific industries e.g. medical, banking, oil.
I prefer to teach adults however I am also happy to teach teenagers.
