I am a passionate and nurturing Early Years / KS1 teacher with a strong commitment to helping children make good progress in all aspects of their learning. Experienced in delivering the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. I have over 5 years of teaching experience in London schools. My teaching approach is supportive and aims to help children make good progress in all aspects of their learning in a fun and engaging way.
Over the years, I have helped many children to build their confidence with Phonics, reading and writing and maths. I have the necessary resources to teach Phonics and my lessons are tailored to the specific needs of the child. I am trained in Little Wandle (Phonics Programme) that is used widely across many schools in London. To support teaching and learning, I use visuals to help children learn better.
When planning my lessons, I carefully prepare my lessons according to the relevant year group curriculum. When delivering lessons, I follow a strategic teaching approach whereby I first recap the previous lesson, teach new content, ask questions to check understanding and then give the child the opportunity to apply their knowledge by having a go independently. For younger learners (early years - up to age 5) lessons are typically 30 mins. For children in Year 1 and Year 2, lessons are 1 hour. The timings can vary depending on the child's needs. I can help to build a strong foundation for your child.
