With a Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Development, a TEFL certification, and a B.Ed in the making, I’m always on the go, juggling my studies with my passion for helping others grow. About the lesson

My Approach to Private Tutoring

As a passionate and dedicated educator with a Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and a TEFL certification, I believe in fostering an engaging, supportive, and student-centered learning environment. I’m currently pursuing my B.Ed in Intermediate Phase Education, and I strive to create lessons that are not only educational but also enjoyable and tailored to each student’s needs.

Methodology:
I adopt a constructivist approach, focusing on interactive, hands-on learning that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving. By integrating real-life examples and promoting curiosity, I aim to make lessons meaningful and applicable to students' everyday lives. My tutoring sessions are designed to boost students' confidence, motivation, and understanding of the subject matter. Whether it's helping a student improve their language skills or reinforcing core academic concepts, I strive to meet each learner where they are and support their individual growth.

Languages:
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans, and I am able to provide lessons in both languages, depending on the student’s preference.

Lesson Experience:
A typical lesson with me involves a clear structure, starting with a warm-up or review of previously learned material. I aim to make the lesson interactive, with a focus on hands-on activities, discussions, and practical examples. We work through targeted exercises and activities, and I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate. At the end of each lesson, we recap the key takeaways, and I give students practice assignments or feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Target Audience:
My lessons are designed for students in the Intermediate Phase (Grades 4-12), as well as younger learners who need additional support in English, Afrikaans, and foundational subjects. I also offer tutoring for students preparing for TEFL exams or those who wish to improve their English language skills. My lessons are tailored to accommodate various learning styles and levels, whether the student needs help with homework, improving grades, or gaining a deeper understanding of subjects.
