About Aisling
My name is Aisling, I am 26 years old. I grew up in New Jersey, USA and I have lived in Ireland for over 10 years. My hobbies include reading, writing and travelling with friends. I have a variety of skills which I offer private lessons on and I like teaching because it is a rewarding career as it allows students to progress and achieve their goals, gain skills and assistance to move forward in the ways that they wish.

I believe every student learns differently and lesson plans are flexible, and adapted to student’s individual needs. A sample Conversational English lesson plan I offer for adults, teenagers and children includes: - Warm-up Activity, introduction (What you want to learn! Individual lesson topic, chosen based on student’s long-term goals for achievements) - Overview, the teacher presents the topic in greater detail and demonstrates the subject material - Controlled Practice, the student is allowed to practise what has been presented to them in the form of various activities and games, - Production, the student is allowed to practise the material more freely, typically in the form of dialogue or quick written exercises - Review and Closing, the material is presented again by the teacher or student in various forms/activities to cement what was covered in the lesson Exam preparation classes, including the Cambridge and Trinity exams focus on the 4 parts of the exams (speaking, reading, writing, listening) and go through the relevant exam books and material (students do not have to pay for books as I provide them and the cost is included in the lesson price!). Grammar lessons and exercises are provided and gone through during lessons so students can recognise errors and progress quickly. Speaking in accordance with the guidelines of the exams and exam prompts/questions is also practised in lessons. Listening and reading exercises are often given as a homework assignment due to the amount of time taken as well as the ability for the student to complete these tasks independently and answers as well as any issues the student encountered are gone through during the following lesson. If students need extra time, explanations on specific points of the exams, lesson plans are of course adapted for students to gain an accurate understanding of what is expected of them in the exams, what points they need to cover and the level of English required to meet the marks they need. I have a 90% success rate teaching Exam students and over years have become very skilled at helping students achieve their goals. I also offer proofreading and editing services, professional CV writing assistance, business advice and grinds/private tutoring for secondary school students, and lesson plans would be discussed based on the necessary material to cover adhering to the overall goal/achievement of the student. CV assistance, Business advice lessons include understanding the student's goals for their future employment, job, or career and the necessary steps they need to take in order to be successful. Professional CV assistance, books and guidelines are included in the price of the lesson and guidance on succeeding in their chosen field is also provided. Students are invited to discuss their individual circumstances and what they hope to gain from professional, individualised, personalised CV assistance and Business advice lessons. Proofreading & Editing Services are also discussed on a case by case basis. During the free trial lesson, students are invited to discuss their proofreading & editing needs, their project timeframe and both short and long term goals. I am a qualified and experienced proofreader and editor with a strong understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail.
