About Helen
I am a qualified teacher of English Literature and Language and have ten years experience of teaching at secondary level: Key Stages 3-5 (state and private schools) and tutoring in person and online.
I am passionate about reading, writing, speaking and listening, as English is the foundation of all subjects. I work to engage pupils with a wide range of teaching strategies alongside devising an individualised personal learning plan for each pupil. I have worked extensively with gifted and talented pupils, those who have English as an additional language and pupils with special educational needs (dyslexia specialism). I have working knowledge of various examination boards including OCR, AQA and IGCSE. My belief is that all pupils want to learn and deserve to achieve and exceed their capabilities with my specialism and support.
I currently have spaces available late afternoon for online tuition using Bramble: the best interactive online platform available for teaching and learning. Each session is fully recorded and sent to pupils following the lesson alongside a completed lesson plan detailing assessment objectives and steps for next learning/homework if required.
