About Eli
I am really passionate about instilling a love for literature in young people, and therefore a confidence in their ability to be able to identify, analyse, use and reuse language. In my 2 years of practice I have learnt an abundance of tactics to get students more enthusiastic to practise literacy and oracy. I am hoping that I can provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for students to be able to become more enthusiastic in their own classrooms

I have been teaching for 2 years as an English and Drama high school teacher at high-achieving schools. I am a highly organised teacher that focuses primarily on high school students. I am hoping to foster a safe learning environment where students can practise and refine newly learnt skills in my lessons. I plan to align lessons in accordance with a text, this can be one chosen by myself and the student, or in accordance with their school curriculum. My text studies involve a deep unpacking of themes, characters and author methods, and then moving onto practising writing extended responses in preparation for examinations. Additionally, I can provide lessons that nurture student creative writing abilities. Typical lesson length: 1/ 1.5/ 2 hrs

My prices are set to reflect my teaching abilities and qualifications. I graduated from Sydney University with a double degree in Arts and Secondary Education with distinctions. I currently work at a high-achieving secondary school in Hillingdon, alongside one of the most capable and hard-working English faculties I have ever seen as a student or teacher. To get a better idea about my prices, here is the work that I will be doing outside of lesson time: - Researching texts and school curriculum, so that I can learn how to best support learning - Marking homework with specific and productive feedback - Getting support and advice from my colleagues
