About Eugene
Hello everyone. My name is Eugene, your friendly and knowledgeable English Teacher with a very deep voice (you might have a fright when you hear my voice for the first time).
I live and grew up in South Africa, the country with ELEVEN official languages, with English being one of them (I speak Afrikaans as well, another official language in our country). I have the typical South African English accent, which is a neutral accent that sounds more British than American. You will definitely not have a problem understanding me. We will have fun learning and growing together.
There is one very simple reason why I want to teach English: I am good at it. My parents and teachers have always told me that I would make an excellent teacher, and I am. I have the necessary qualifications and experience, though this will be my first time teaching online (you can teach from home and travel on this platform as well, which I am willing to do, but I will mainly be doing online teaching).
I received an A on my diploma from Global Language Training in their 250 Hour Expert TEFL/TESOL Course, the highest grade (above 90% average) in their most difficult course. I also studied English (BA Languages: English Studies) at University up until my final year, but could not finish my degree due to health reasons.
I have also written a full-length novel as well as a poetry compilation containing dozens of poems. Both will be published soon.
I have given several English lessons to young students in person, yet as I mentioned this will be my first time teaching English online. So come along! Book a lesson or two, tell me what you want to learn, and let's get going!

My approach to tutoring is simple: you tell me what you want to learn and I develop a personalized lesson plan. This can include exam preparation, Business English, poetry, creative writing, pronunciation, tenses, vocabulary, grammar, essay writing, and anything else you can think of.
I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans. I am able to teach both of these languages.
What can you expect from a typical lesson? As mentioned, you tell me what you want to learn. You can expect exactly that and much more in a lesson.
My lessons are for anyone of any level and of any age. I can teach you anything you want to learn, from the basics upwards.
