About Ann

Hi there!
I have a real passion and love for teaching and tutoring, having taught English, History & Politics at Secondary & A-Level for over seven years. I am a fully qualified teacher and I am Oxbridge educated (can provide evidence of this on request). I absolutely love to see students` confidence increase and I enjoy helping students to make progress and realise their potential.

Like teaching, tutoring requires skill and commitment: Not everyone who has a good degree or has performed well in a subject can actually teach it. Hence, I am really proud of my teaching experiences and my pedagogical training which has helped me to get the best out of my students, enabling them to enjoy subjects I love.

7 + years full time Education teaching experience
5 years tutoring experience

Whilst in Education I have taken on roles such as:
Literacy coordinator for the whole school & Deputy Head of History

Tutoring wise - recent successes from the 2018 - 19 include:
1 x English student, improving grade from a Grade 5 to Grade 8 in 2.5 months of tutoring and

An A-level History re-take student improving her grade from a D grade to an A grade in 3 months of tutoring, enabling her to attend her first choice university

1 x English student achieving 2 x A grades for English Language & Literature following Cambridge IGCSE syllabus within 6 months of tutoring

2 x students achieving first choice independent schools after 11+ Entrance exam tutoring

As a tutor, my goal is to enable every student to feel empowered, knowledgeable and fully prepared to tackle any exam or class assessment but also to help them to develop a passion for my subjects and to become deeper thinkers and more motivated learners as a result.

Given the current situation, online tutoring is the best approach but I have experience of tutoring online so please rest assured that this can also be a great method of tutoring.
