About Hannah

Hello, I’m Hannah, a qualified primary school teacher with 12 years of experience working with children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I currently teach Year 2 and am passionate about helping children develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

I became a teacher because I genuinely enjoy helping children discover what they are capable of and seeing the moment when learning clicks. Every child learns differently, and I believe that with the right support, encouragement and teaching approach, all children can make progress and feel successful.

Tutoring allows me to work closely with children on an individual basis, tailoring learning to their specific needs and interests. I love building positive relationships with pupils and helping them grow in confidence, whether they need support with phonics, reading, maths, writing, SATs preparation or simply developing a more positive attitude towards learning.

My aim is always to create a calm, supportive environment where children feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions and achieving their full potential.

About the lesson

My approach is centred around creating a calm, supportive and positive learning environment where every child feels comfortable and confident. Over the course of our sessions, I take time to get to know each child, their interests, strengths and individual learning needs. This allows me to tailor activities and learning experiences around topics that engage and motivate them, helping to foster both confidence and a genuine love of learning.

I strongly believe that secure foundations in the core subjects are essential for future success. By identifying and addressing gaps in understanding, I help children build the fundamental skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond. Lessons are carefully adapted to suit each child’s pace and learning style, ensuring they feel challenged, supported and successful.

• Spelling, punctuation and grammar
• Maths
• SATs preparation
