About me & my experience:
- 5 Years Teaching English at Secondary Level (KS3, 4 & 5)
- Graded "Outstanding" in final qualification review
- Run small group and 1:1 English intervention
- Extensive experience with students with SEN (particularly those with autism, dyslexia, SEMH, ADHD and anxiety)
- Completed Academic Research into vocabulary acquisition, speaking and listening, Year 6 to Year 7 transition, reading and writing fluency and cross-curricular teaching at Secondary level with Bath Spa Institute of Education.
- Awarded and Moderated Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) during the COVID pandemic
- AQA GCSE English Language Examiner
- I hold a current DBS certificate
I love reading, watching films and Netflix, travelling and exploring new places and experimenting with cooking and baking. My favourite book and favourite music change depending on my mood - at the moment, I'm loving YA adventures like The Six of Crows, Clap When You Land and The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue to the soundtrack of early 00s pop ... My coffee order is a large Iced Americano, and I make an excellent Sunday Lunch - toad-in-the-hole with onion gravy is my specialty. I also like climbing, sailing and wild swimming. One day, I would love to get a large pet dog - particularly a Golden Retriever, Newfoundland, Bernese Mountain Dog or German Shepherd.
