About Candace

I am a qualified secondary school English teacher with over eight years' experience teaching English across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. My specialist area is GCSE English Language and Literature, and I have extensive experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs.

I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop strong reading and writing skills, and approach their exams with greater clarity and confidence. My lessons focus on exam technique, essay writing, language analysis and helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for.

I believe every student can make progress with the right support, guidance and encouragement. My aim is to create engaging, supportive lessons that are tailored to each student's individual needs, helping them feel well prepared and equipped to achieve the best outcomes they are capable of.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to the individual needs of each student and are designed to build both subject knowledge and exam confidence. As a qualified secondary school English teacher with over eight years of experience, I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching approach to suit their strengths, areas for development and learning style.

For GCSE English Language and Literature, lessons focus on developing key skills such as reading comprehension, language analysis, essay writing, exam technique and understanding assessment criteria. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and provide clear explanations, guided practice and constructive feedback to help students make progress.

Lessons are suitable for students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, although my specialist area is GCSE English. Sessions are typically one hour in length and are delivered in a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their confidence.
