About Clive

I bring a structured, patient, and practical approach to every lesson. Working in Further Education with learners across all levels, I understand that everyone grasps concepts differently. Whether you are aiming to push for top grades, rebuild confidence, or pass a resit, we will work at a pace that suits you.

What to expect in our sessions:
Tailored Learning Plans: We start by identifying specific gap areas and building a targeted step-by-step plan.

Exam Technique & Insider Knowledge: As an active examiner (GCSE English Language), I focus heavily on standard mark schemes, structuring answers effectively, and understanding exactly what examiners are looking for.

Practical, Accessible Explanations: Complex ideas are broken down using real-world examples, visual aids, and interactive problem-solving.

Supportive Environment: Lessons are non-judgemental spaces where mistakes are welcomed as learning opportunities.

Whether online via video call or in person, all sessions include clear resources, action points, and regular progress updates.

About the lesson

I am a Level 5 qualified teacher working in Further Education, specialising in GCSE English and GCSE Maths. Alongside classroom teaching, I have marked GCSE exams, giving me first-hand insight into assessment standards and common student pitfalls.

My learners are usually resitting due to not achieving their target grades previously, so I focus heavily on practical tips, memory tricks, and clear techniques to help students remember exactly what they need to know. My goal is to break down complex mark schemes and make exam preparation as straightforward, accessible, and stress-free as possible.

Whether you need to secure that all-important Grade 4 or rebuild your confidence in key subject areas, we will work together to make the process manageable and achievable.

Clive has helped my son understand things his mainstream teachers don’t have the time in class to do. My son said he talked him through the maths issues slowly and broke it into understandable chucks that made sense. He also showed him different ways to do it. So lucky to have found Clive
