About Bethany
I am currently studying psychology and education at masters level, at the University of Sheffield. Prior to beginning this year of study, I worked as a fully qualified teacher in year 5 (KS2) following three years of teacher training with English specialism at the University of Reading. My experience spans all primary age groups as well as nursery and early years. I have spent time working as a nursery assistant with children aged 0-4 years, as well as working as a teacher throughout Key Stages 1 and 2.
My experience spans all primary age groups as well as nursery and early years. I have spent time working as a teacher throughout foundation stage and Key Stages 1 and 2, specifically in Reception and years 1, 3, 4 and 5. Alongside my work in schools, I have also worked as a nursery assistant with children aged 0-4 years old, as well as working as a group leader for a summer activities camp. Here, I worked with large groups of children aged 5-13, leading sports, crafts and other hands-on activities.
Therefore, I am fortunate enough to have a well rounded and ever-growing experience of working with children, both in and out of educational settings and can use this knowledge to tutor children on a personalised and one-to-one basis.

I take a very passionate approach to learning and feel strongly that every child can achieve what they want or need to achieve- If given a nurturing, motivating and challenging environment in which to do so, along with teaching that matches their needs and helps them to grow. In my spare time, I am a very active person and enjoy cooking and baking, along with my love of home DIY and anything crafty. I take hold of any opportunity to weave these hobbies into my teaching and feel that involving children in hands on learning is often the key to help them understand a topic!
