About Mehernaz

As a caring and patient ELA educator with over 10 years in the field, I am committed to helping young learners become confident readers, thoughtful writers, and enthusiastic communicators. My passion for teaching is rooted in the belief that every child has a unique voice and the potential to succeed when given the right support and encouragement. I hold a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University and have worked as an ELA curriculum designer. My background as both a classroom teacher and instructional leader has equipped me with a deep understanding of how children learn best and how to make literacy engaging, accessible, and meaningful.

About the lesson

My approach goes beyond simply teaching reading and writing—I strive to empower my students to think critically, express themselves with confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

I specialize in teaching elementary students and work with learners who need support in reading comprehension, writing structure, grammar, and vocabulary. I tailor each session to meet each student’s individual goals and strengths, ensuring engagement and meaningful progress. I break down complex reading and writing strategies into clear, manageable steps using modeling, guided practice, and independent application. I also foster confidence by celebrating progress, encouraging risk-taking, and turning mistakes into meaningful learning opportunities.
