About Samantha
I am a literacy lover and love turning nonreaders into bookworms! I have 13+ years of experience with teaching reading.
I have my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and my Masters degree in Literacy and Second Language Studies. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson's Fundations, Heggerty, & More! As a mom of 4, I know each child is special and unique. With each new client, I get excited at the opportunity to build strong relationships so that I can ensure each child is getting that special and uniquely designed instruction, too!

As an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor, I will use an assessment based approach to determine the specific needs of each student and cater my lessons appropriately. If deemed necessary, students who need work in decoding and fluency will receive Orton-Gillingham style lessons that build upon each other using a scope and sequence aligned to the Science of Reading. For students needing instruction in language or reading comprehension, we will use a series of Paired Texts and Expanding Expression Tools to help your learner strengthen their understanding of texts and topics!
