About Lucy

I’m a native English speaker working in a professional business environment as a project manager. I enjoy helping students improve their English in a relaxed, supportive way, focusing on clear communication and confidence. I particularly enjoy working with adult learners and professionals. Outside teaching, I love travelling and horse riding, and I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m a native English speaker and a friendly, patient, and enthusiastic English tutor specialising in real-world conversational English and reading. The kind of everyday English people actually use, but rarely get taught in textbooks.

I’ve been teaching English online for around 4–5 years, working with learners from a range of backgrounds and levels. My lessons focus on natural conversation, fluency, and confidence, rather than rigid grammar drills or overly formal syllabus English. If you want to sound more natural and comfortable when speaking, my lessons are designed to help you do exactly that.

I particularly enjoy helping students:

Speak confidently and naturally in real-life situations

Understand everyday expressions, tone, and natural phrasing

Improve fluency through guided conversation and reading practice

Build confidence without fear of making mistakes

I’m very happy to include reading in lessons, from short articles and everyday texts to reading together to improve pronunciation, comprehension, and vocabulary. Reading is a great way to reinforce spoken English and helps learners feel more confident expressing themselves.

Alongside teaching, I work as a project management professional, which brings an added dimension to my lessons for students who want support with professional communication, interviews, or workplace English. I’m particularly strong in interview technique, helping students practise answers, structure responses clearly, and communicate confidently and naturally. I can also support learners who want to improve English for meetings, presentations, or professional discussions, always in a practical, human way.

I’m a supportive, down-to-earth teacher who enjoys building genuine rapport with students, especially those looking for regular lessons and steady progress. I take the time to understand what you want to work on and tailor lessons around your goals, interests, and learning style.

Lessons are relaxed, flexible, and pressure-free. I’m open to ideas and happy to adapt sessions to suit you — whether that’s conversation, reading, interview practice, professional communication, or a mix of everything.
