About Tommy
I have recently graduated with a First Class degree from Durham University in International Relations, having previously achieved A*A*A at A Level. In my year out before university, I tutored multiple students locally, having been sought out from a reputation for hard work and reliability gained at school. My degree has further reinforced my base knowledge and writing skills, allowing me to engage students in concepts and ideas through connections to the real world tailored to their individual interests.

I'm Tommy, and I take a friendly but detail-driven approach to tutoring. I have previously worked with GCSE and A Level students in English Language and Geography, basing lessons on the use of original and engaging custom-made practice resources designed to emphasise both exam technique and subject knowledge. I have individually tailored these to students to both target their areas for improvement and to engage their personal interests. I studied History, Geography and English Lit at A Level (A*A*A) and still draw on resources I produced for myself back then in both tutoring and my own studies! I prefer to teach 90 minute lessons as I find this allows the student to consolidate understandings across a lesson without feeling rushed, but can also teach hour-long lessons.
