About Katherine
Having graduated from Princeton University with a 2:1 as a History Major this past summer, I understand the rigour of the education system. While my major was history, my degree was a liberal arts degree, meaning I have a lot of recent experience in a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to: Politics, English, Science and Philosophy. As part of my degree, I was required to write two independent research papers in my junior year, each approximately 9500 words and a Senior Thesis in my final year. My 25,000-word Senior Thesis compared Margaret Thatcher and Arthur Scargill's leadership styles, analysing how these different styles led to the outcome of the 1984 Miners' Strike. As part of my research, I interviewed contemporary politicians to provide a lived experience for my thesis. The process of writing such a lengthy independent research paper was both incredibly challenging and rewarding, and I truly believe it would not have been possible had I not had the confidence that had been built up in the early stages of my education.

Having spent a lot of time going to tutors when I was younger, I personally understand what it is to be a good tutor. I am passionate about student-led learning that encourages and enthuses young people to engage in their own learning while gently pushing them to progress. I am looking to tutor primary and prep school-aged children, whether they need specific entrance exam preparation or more general help with humanities subjects. I can be flexible on lesson length, depending on the child's needs; however, I do not recommend they are longer than an hour.
