About Erica

Graduating from Juilliard provided a rigorous foundation that shapes how I communicate musical ideas during my 7 years of teaching experience. Sitting in the violin section of the Seattle Symphony gives me a unique perspective on the demands of performance that I share with students ranging from 4-year-old beginners to college audition track high schoolers. My home studio in Chicago serves as a space where we explore spiccato and staccato bowing, precise intonation, classical repertoire, rhythm and timing, ear training, posture and hold, along with scales and arpeggios. Please reach out if you want to explore these technical foundations together.

About the lesson

"You will find that our time together focuses on clarity and steady improvement. Because I provide custom scale and etude sheets for each student, you receive precise materials designed to address the specific challenges appearing in your repertoire.

My background in major symphony halls informs how we break down complex passages into manageable segments that prioritize physical comfort and musical expression. Drawing from my 7 years of instruction, I ensure that the pace feels natural while maintaining a consistent rigor. You can expect a environment where questioning is encouraged and technical obstacles are solved through observation and deliberate practice. I will support your development until the music feels entirely like your own."
