I try to build a friendly relationship with the student from the first meeting. With a welcoming and approachable demeanour, students won't be afraid to try new and/or difficult exercises.
The first session will be an interview with parents and the student to determine where they think their strengths and weaknesses lie, and do some diagnostic assessments for the student to demonstrate their abilities. From there, lessons will be a combination of schoolwork to complete and activities to strengthen these abilities.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and Media, and a Master of Teaching. During these degrees, I have tutored students in group and on-on-one settings in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
As a recent graduate, I am up-to-date on the Victorian Curriculum study design for middle years students and for VCE English, as well as effective teaching practice.
If for whatever reason your child cannot attend a lesson, please provide at least 12 hours notice.
