About Constance
I am a former attorney, and more recently a college-level instructor of various courses in English Literature, English writing, and writing about film, among other topics, with fifteen years of experience in teaching young adults, returning adults, and business professionals.
English is NOT a mystery; good reading ability is key along with understanding sentence construction and good vocabulary for writing about readings or to communicate clearly on any topic.
Practice, modeling, and grammar review often can improve overall English skills dramatically.

The student's needs are paramount: if a particular assignment is needed, we can work on that. If an overall improvement is needed, we will identify learning blocks and approach improvement through assessments and reassessments.
Reading and writing go together, so selected readings can be discussed and then written assignments based on these readings are used to determine comprehension and identification of main ideas. We may have questions to prompt better comprehension, or perhaps some lessons on grammar can be integrated if needed.
I develop a lesson plan based on each student's needs and requests.
I tutor college, and graduate students, and business professionals.
