I am a retired lawyer. My undergraduate degree was from Denison University. I attended graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley. I was a teaching assistant at both institutions. I graduated from Capital University Law School (3/186) and have practiced law for over thirty four years. A great deal of any lawyers time is spent in legal writing.

Owner and Attorney: Practice is primarily in the areas of Family Law. In civil legal practice, have successfully assisted thousands of individuals seeking divorce, dissolution and post-decree modifications of parenting orders. Practice also includes representing minors and parents in delinquency and dependency cases in Juvenile Court. Representation of these clients also includes appellate work. I am presently on the Guardian Ad Litem list for Delaware, Fairfield, Union and Licking Counties.
Union County Juvenile Treatment Court: Commencing in 2019, on contract with Union County Public Defender’s Office to provide services to Juvenile Drug Treatment Court. This Court has treatment programs for adults and juveniles. Attend Court hearings and participate in treatment team meetings.
City of Pickerington: This growing suburb of Columbus, Ohio has approximately 14,000 residents. The city has a work force of 93 employees and an annual budget of over $19,000,000.00 and an A-1 bond rating. During my term of service, Pickerington was one of the fastest growing cities in Ohio and continued to sustain managed economic and residential growth with an average of over fifty new businesses a year. The Mayor’s Court hears over sixteen hundred cases annually. 2002-2008
Mayor. Responsible for the oversight of city government, supervision of the city manager and management of the Mayor’s Court. Presided over city council and sub-committee meetings. Served as spokesperson for the city and gave public presentations on weekly basis, speaking before either small groups or large assemblies. Acted as primary political liaison to other government entities and negotiated agreements for Joint Economic Development Districts with multiple government entities and comprehensive annexation agreement with surrounding township. Responsible for adoption of programs for growth management, thereby controlling the rate of residential growth. Pickerington became one of first cities in Ohio to adopt impact fees on new development to alleviate burden of growth on existing taxpayers. Initiated and implemented design standards assuring quality of commercial and residential development. During tenure, obtained first bond rating from Moody’s, currently A-1. Prior to becoming Mayor, served on Pickerington City Council
Fairfield County Municipal Court: Court serves Fairfield County, Ohio and adjudicates misdemeanor criminal cases and civil cases where amount in dispute is under $15,000.00. 2002-2004
Acting Judge. Presided as judge when elected judges were unavailable due to absence or conflict. Heard criminal and civil cases. Served in this capacity until election to mayor, precluding involvement with this Court due to operation of Mayor’s Court.
Past President, Fairfield County Bar Association. Coordinated court and bar association committees, developed and conducted continuing legal education course and coordinated publication of informational material to bar members. Also served as secretary, treasurer and vice president.
Past Board Member: Pickerington Violet Festival. Member of board that developed and implemented first Violet Festival. Included public speaking to promote the event, fund raising from government and corporate sponsors, negotiations with vendors and suppliers and development of a relationship with surrounding governments.
Past Board Member: Pickerington Senior Citizens Center Foundation. Board oversees management of investment of funds for Senior Center Foundation and determines distribution of funds for capital expenditures. Served on board while mayor.
Past Member: Fairfield County Board of Health. Determines the expenditure of funds and budget for board of health. Performed these duties while mayor of Pickerington.
Past Member, Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. Assists local communities’ regional development. Performed these duties while mayor of Pickerington.
Knights of Columbus, Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish: Served as financial secretary.
United States Soccer Federation and Ohio State High School Athletic Association: Certified soccer referee. Refereed high school and club soccer matches throughout the central Ohio area.
US Lacrosse Association: Served as Certified lacrosse referee. Referees at high school level.
Pickerington Area Soccer Association: Served as soccer coach for over ten years.
Pickerington Youth Athletic Association: Served as volunteer basketball coach for several years
