About Carlos

I've been educating students of all grade levels since 2014. Many of my pupils come from backgrounds where they struggled with academics all their lives. I understand them because I've been there myself, and I became a tutor because I want to help them succeed. I wish I had a mentor in my life, and by guiding my students on their paths, I feel like I'm becoming that mentor. Tutoring is quite fun for me, and I take pride in my work. Most of the 30+ students I've taught so far got an A in the classes they chose (and none of them got anything less than a B.)

About the lesson

I teach a wide variety of students, from sixth graders all the way to college freshmen. But regardless of who I'm tutoring, my teaching methods are simple: give the student what they want at a pace they're comfortable with. Unlike traditional teachers, I am not restrained to a schedule, so I have the freedom to go as fast or as slow as the student wants (and change pace as desired). I assess each student's level of knowledge, and I tailor my teaching style around both it and the student's unique way of learning. In doing so, I make learning both fun and significantly more rewarding for him or her (and believe me... in my experience, learning is a lot more enjoyable when the teacher's challenging you instead of just droning on and on like a robot.) I would start on the topic that the student is struggling with the most and from there, I would either teach them on said topic or backtrack to a prerequisite lesson if they're not ready for this new topic. Once they've mastered this first topic, I would ask them what they want to learn next and then I repeat the process. So simple, and yet so effective too.
