About John

From 2016-2020 I ran three music schools in Surrey, teaching bass guitar to dozens of individuals and mixed-ability groups aged 7-70. I've been a professional performing bassist since graduating with a BMus in 2006, touring the UK and internationally.

About the lesson

I am a degree-educated musician and a huge bass nerd. I approach lessons with lots of enthusiasm and curiosity. I want to engage with YOUR innate musicality, developing a repertoire and facilitating your expressive potential with solid technique.

John was my Bass teacher when I attended a local Rock project . I have been taught both individually and as part of a group by John . He is methodical patient and full of knowledge about Bass playing. He taught me for around two years and in well within that time he had got me to public performance level as part of a band. I have continued this and it would be true to say that myself and other Bass students that I am still in touch with, continue with their bass playing and would all agree they were influenced by Johns expertise and enthusiasm . Highly recommended.
