About Emma
Hey! My name is Emma, and I am a student at McMaster University in the Justice, Political Philosophy, and Law program. As a Humanities student, my courses have centered around how to write a strong, concise essay, and I would love to share what I have learned with you. My goal is to provide you with the tools you need to level up your work and help you get the grade you deserve. Though my academic time is spent writing formal argumentative essays, I spend my free time in the library writing short stories, and I would love to hear about what you have written!

Lessons are available for students in grades 8–12. There are two available lessons: 1. editing pre-written work, and 2. creating a new piece and structuring it together. Option 1 involves the student sending me their essay or short story, which I will read in advance of the session. The session will involve going over my edits (grammar, structure, soundness, etc.) and discussing them with the student. By the end of that session, they will have a fully edited and polished product ready for submission. Option 2 involves the student and I discussing what is being taught in class in relation to their assignment, and from there we will input our brainstormed ideas into my outline format, which I will later provide to the student. We will also go over the importance of a strong thesis statement and how to create one. In this session, I will discuss citations and provide resources to ease that process.
