About Sehaj
Hi! I’m Sehaj, a second-year medical student at Bond University with a genuine passion for teaching, mentoring and working with young people.
Having been a student myself not too long ago, I understand how much of a difference the right support can make. Sometimes a student doesn’t need someone to simply explain the content again — they need someone who is patient, approachable and willing to find a different way of explaining it until it makes sense. That is the kind of tutor I aim to be.
I would describe myself as kind, patient, dependable and highly organized. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and telling me when they don’t understand something. At the same time, I am very goal-oriented and enjoy helping students recognize what they are capable of and work towards achieving it.
My interest in tutoring also comes from my love of mentoring younger students. I previously founded and ran a Junior School Buddy Reading Programme for students in Years 1–3 and served as Deputy Head Girl, experiences that strengthened my communication, leadership and mentoring skills. As an aspiring pediatrician, working with children and young people is something I particularly enjoy and hope to continue throughout my career.
Academically, I have always set high standards for myself, from achieving 7/7 in IB Business Management and Mathematics Analysis & Approaches SL to receiving Dean’s Awards during my first year of medical school. However, I know that academic success looks different for every student. Whether your goal is to improve a grade, prepare for an important assessment, build confidence in a difficult subject, achieve a 7 in the IB, or prepare for medical admissions, I want to help you work towards your individual goals.
Above all, I want tutoring to be a positive experience. My aim is for students to leave our sessions feeling more confident, supported and capable than when they started, while developing skills that will continue to help them beyond our lessons.

I believe effective tutoring should be personalized to each student, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Before our first lesson, I ask each student and/or parent to complete a short introductory questionnaire covering their current academic performance, strengths, areas they find challenging, learning style, confidence, study habits, upcoming assessments and short- and long-term goals. This allows me to understand the student before we begin and develop a clear, individualized plan from our very first session.
My teaching style is structured, supportive and goal-focused. Students are encouraged to send through homework, upcoming topics, practice questions or areas they are struggling with before each lesson so I can prepare in advance and make our time together as productive as possible.
During lessons, I focus on breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps, identifying why mistakes are occurring, targeting weaker areas with practice questions and developing effective study, organization and exam techniques. I also regularly reassess the student’s progress and adjust our focus as their needs and goals change. My aim is not simply to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand the material, learn from their mistakes and gradually become more confident and independent learners.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s age, needs and goals.
I am a second-year medical student at Bond University and received Dean’s Awards during my first year of medical school. I achieved 7/7 in IB Business Management and Mathematics Analysis & Approaches SL, ranked top of my graduating cohort in IB Business Management, and scored in the top bracket of the CASPER examination. I also have experience tutoring and mentoring younger students and founded and ran a Junior School Buddy Reading Programme for Years 1–3.
I offer online tutoring for Years 1–9 Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities, IB Business Management SL/HL, IB Biology SL/HL, and CASPER and MMI preparation for students pursuing medical pathways.
