About Annie
My name is Annie, I am 19 years old and have a passion for teaching and learning. I have tutored 4 students over the past two years aged from 13-17. Each student required a different approach to learning which I adapted and met aptly, ensuring that their enjoyment was placed at the centre of every session.
Tutoring English Literature and History have not been my only experiences teaching, I have also taught swimming for the past 2 years where I have learnt valuable skills in regards to communication and adaptability, Every student, no matter the subject, has different approaches to learning. This is why one-to-one tutoring sessions are so beneficial as tutors are able to meet every individual student's needs- something which is hard to achieve in a classroom.
As a young tutor, I find it easy to understand students anxieties when it comes to exam stress and balance between studies and day to day life which is why I also offer guidance on how to create timetables to manage your studies and lives effectively. I look to build professional yet approachable relationships with all my students to create an interactive and hard-working environment to encourage success.

My lessons are typically dynamic and interactive one-hour sessions. I tend to use PowerPoint, through screen sharing, along with interactive Kahoot quizzes and small tasks. I believe that a blended learning approach of reading, writing and communicating verbally in a one-to-one session can improve confidence, ability and enjoyment of any subject!
I will set weekly tasks for my students to complete between sessions in line with their curriculums and specifications and monitor their progress weekly, ensuring that I provide time for students to highlight areas with which they are struggling.
All my sessions have student success at the core and I believe that leading engaging sessions is key to this.
My sessions are aimed towards those students studying English Literature and/or History at either GCSE or A-Level, I am adaptable and willing to cover any specifications necessary.
At A-Level, I received an A* in English Literature and an A in History. My passion for this has extended into my studies at university where I also study English Literature and History. I have just received a First in my first year and I am looking forward to the next year of my progression.
