About Sophie
Hi! I’m a qualified English and Drama teacher in my mid-twenties with a passion for helping students find their voice and grow in confidence. While I take learning seriously, I bring a relaxed and encouraging approach to tutoring—creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and making progress. When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me reading Jane Austen for the hundredth time or hunting down unique books from around the world to add to my growing collection. I love bringing creativity into my lessons and drawing on my Drama background to help students engage more deeply with texts and express themselves with clarity and flair.

Are you or your child preparing for GCSE or A-Level English exams and looking for tailored, effective support? I offer professional tutoring in AQA English Language and Literature, designed to build confidence, boost grades, and develop essential analytical skills.

A-Level: The Great Gatsby, A Streetcar Named Desire, Handmaid's Tale, Frankenstein, the Browning Anthology and the Paris Anthology.
I’m also happy to support students studying alternative set texts or poetry clusters. My tutoring is student-centred, friendly, and focused on progress. Every session is tailored to the individual’s needs, whether that means strengthening exam technique, developing close analysis skills, or refining essay structure.
I use: -Modelled answers and structured scaffolding to support writing -Active questioning and discussion to deepen understanding -Exam-style practice and feedback to improve performance -Confidence-building strategies for reluctant or anxious learners I also specialise in working with students who are neurodivergent, helping them access texts meaningfully and successfully.
