About Fatima

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, with historical fiction being my favorite genre. My passion for history has also led me to study an Accelerated Ancient History, completing the course a year ahead of the standard curriculum. Reading and history have helped shape my analytical thinking, and I encourage my students to develop the same curiosity and confidence in their learning.

I also value spending quality time with my family, who have always supported and encouraged me to pursue my academic goals. Their guidance has taught me the importance of patience, discipline, and perseverance qualities I pray to bring into every lesson. I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and achieving their full potential.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students become confident, capable readers and writers. I believe strong English skills come from a combination of understanding, consistent practice, and a genuine appreciation for reading. I encourage students to read widely to expand their vocabulary, improve their comprehension, and develop their writing style. For students preparing for Opportunity Class (OC) and Selective School exams, I also teach practical strategies to maximize marks in reading comprehension and creative writing.

A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes and is tailored to each student's goals. Lessons include guided reading, vocabulary development, writing practice, and detailed feedback to help students improve with every session. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I explain why changes make writing stronger, helping students develop the skills to write with clarity, creativity, and confidence.

As a selective student at Hurlstone Agricultural High School, I understand the skills needed to succeed in competitive academic environments. I was also awarded Critic's Choice in the English Olympiad and received reflecting my strong academic performance. My lessons are ideal for primary school students, especially those preparing for OC and Selective School entrance exams looking to strengthen their English skills and achieve higher results.
