About Olivia

I have recently graduated from Italia Conti having studied Acting so I have a modern perspective on what drama school and the industry is looking for. By using this knowledge I have luckily signed with one the biggest agencies in the UK.

I understand that auditioning for drama schools is a daunting process and can be difficult to do alone. I want to be able to support those who are in this situation as I did not receive that support and believe it would have benefited me greatly. I love working with young people and miss it dearly.

About the lesson

For Self Tapes:

I provide a professional self tape room as well as my service as a reader for your tape. I will run the scene with you giving pointers as we explore context, emotional connection, truth and delivery.

I will help produce a strong performance which will help you bring yourself to the character and will allow you to stand out from other auditioners.

For Drama School Audition Preparation:
I will be teaching the skills that I learnt from drama school with a strong focus on character building and objectives. We will explore the acting tutor Uta Hagen ( a tutor I was introduced to during my degree) and how to create a character with focus on truth and authenticity and how to bring your self to a character. These skills will make you stand out in any audition room.

The lessons will be broken down into three stages:

1. Finding monologue content/audition content.
This was the hardest task for me when approaching my drama school audition. I, at the time, did not have a wide range of knowledge of monologue content and wish I had someone who could have suggested some pieces to me. It is important to pick a monologue that fits you and your personality as well as showcasing your talent as this is what makes you stand out in an audition space. We will discover this by trialing out many pieces until we find the perfect fit.

2. How to create and embody a character.
We will explore the best way for you to connect with the piece you are exploring by using character building exercises that I learn during my training. We will also explore vocal posturings to help produce a truthful and authentic character.

3. How to take redirection.
Drama schools want to see your ability to listen and take on direction. An actor must be malleable and know how to change and adapt their work. I will help hone this skill by doing mock audtions where I give notes on how to explore the text differently.
